Pat Sajak, whose final episode of “Wheel of Fortune” airing this Friday (check your local listings), received a heartfelt video goodbye message from his long-time co-host Vanna White. White taped a message that was played for Sajak and the “Wheel” audience on Thursday’s show ahead of Sajak’s final show. “Wheel of Fortune” is hosting a week of shows with the theme “Thanks for the Memories” week.
An emotional White said,” I can’t believe tomorrow is our last show together. I don’t know how to put into words what these last 41 years have meant to me. But I’m going to try. Eight thousand episodes went by like that.” White went on to thank her co-host for the show’s success and popularity. “You made me who I am. You really did.”
Sajak announced his retirement last year.
Well, the time has come. I’ve decided that our 41st season, which begins in September, will be my last. It’s been a wonderful ride, and I’ll have more to say in the coming months. Many thanks to you all. (If nothing else, it’ll keep the clickbait sites busy!)
