The season finale of “Matlock” airs tonight on CBS. The two-part episode promises to answer all the questions about who helped cover up the case that contributed to Matty’s daughter’s death. In the episodes entitled ““Tricks of the Trade – Part One” and “Tricks of the Trade – Part Two,” – When Sarah’s client is arrested after his business partner is found murdered, Billy attempts to help her handle the case while Matty and Olympia contend with a pressing confidential matter, on a special two-hour first season finale of the CBS Original Series MATLOCK, Thursday, April 17 (9:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode airs)*.

“When we get to a new problem in storytelling, I really sit in the character’s emotion on how they would respond,” series creator and showrunner Jennie Snyder Urman told US at PaleyFest LA. “I’m always surprised with what comes out as I think about it – like how they push through – or how each character tells me how they would react. The more we dig into the human experience – and just the more interesting and surprising ways that people behave – it keeps coming to the forefront…I’m constantly surprised by the characters and what the writers’ room brings in. Also, just how we can keep twisting the story and make it more. [It is all about] keeping it fresh and interesting.”
