Etoile” marks Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino of “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” return with a new series on Prime Video. Set in New York City and Paris, the eight-episode “Étoile” follows the dancers and artistic staff of two world-renowned ballet companies, as they embark on an ambitious gambit to save their storied institutions by swapping their most talented stars.

The series stars Luke Kirby, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Lou de Laâge, Gideon Glick, David Alvarez, Ivan du Pontavice, Taïs Vinolo, David Haig, Simon Callow, Yanic Truesdale. Kirby reunites with the Palladinos from his Emmy-winning role as Lenny Bruce on “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” this time as the lead.

Kirby stars as Jack, the head of the New York ballet company trying to make the company profitable again. This marks the second time working with the writing and producing team.

“Yeah, and it is right,” Kirby said backstage before the PaleyFest LA panel honoring Sherman-Palladino earlier this month. “Yeah, but no, more than anything. I just was so happy to, I could stay close to their side for a little while longer because Maisel was such a great experience, but I didn’t get to be there that often, which was really enjoyable, don’t get me wrong. I loved getting to show up in all the right moments, but I did kind of get to dig my claws a little deeper and it prevented me from being sad a little longer. I needed to say goodbye. So yeah, I was, really felt lucky.”

Should Luke not work with The Palladinos again, he’ll always be fond of the time he gets to work with them.

“The sort of affection that there is for being together in a room where we can play,” he said. “That’s a good memory. We all have those memories from childhood. Of course. It’s nice to get to have extended it by doing this show.”

All eight episodes of the series premieres on April 24 on Prime Video.
