Watch: Benson Boone Sing ‘Sorry I’m Here For Someone Else’ and ‘Mystical Magical’ on ‘Saturday Night Live’
“Saturday Night Live” aired their first live show for May with Quinta Brunson as host for the second time and Benson Boone as music guest. It was a night of surprises as superstars Sabrina Carpenter and Dwayne Wade stopped by to support the “Abbott Elementary” star and creator during her opening monologue where the trio sang a song about being short.
Boone performed two songs from his sophomore album, “American Heart” which drops on June 20. During his first performance, he sang “Sorry I’m Here For Someone Else.” Boone was introduced by Brunson and did one of his signature flips off of the piano before serenading the Emmy-winning actress with the song.
Boone made a cameo appearance during SNL’s Weekend Update segment as an Apple Bees waiter named Benson who delivers a meal to the Apple Bees barflies, “Darlene and Duke.”
The Monroe, Washington native then took the stage again to perform “Mystical Magical” also from the “American Heart” album.
Boone has had a whirlwind year. The singer was a contestant on “American Idol” before dropping out of the popular reality competition show to begin his singing career. His single “Beautiful Things” was the biggest song in the world, reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 chart. He was nominated at the 2025 Grammy Awards for Best New Artist. His performance performance at Coachella went viral when he famously covered “Bohemian Rhapsody” with Queen’s Brian May on guitar.
“Saturday Night Live” is once again all new next week, May 10, 2025 when Walter Goggins of “The White Lotus” with musical guest Arcade Fire.
