“American Idol’s” Season 23 Finale was a star studded affair to crown Mississippi native Jamal Roberts as the next American Idol. Superstar Jessica Simpson made her return to live TV for the first time in 15 years. During Sunday’s finale, the actress, signer, and fashion mogul sang her song “Blame You” and then performed her hit cover of Nancy Sinatra’s “These Boots Are Made for Walkin’” with Top 8 finalist Josh King.

Simpson is next scheduled to headline the Women Who Rock benefit concert, presented by Gibson Gives in Pittsburgh on September 5. The performances mark her return to her musical roots with new two-part EP, “Nashville Canyon.” The actress will guest star in an episode of the Ryan Murphy legal drama “All’s Fair,” premiering on Hulu this fall.
