‘It’s All Gonna Break’: Music Doc on Broken Social Scene Hits Theaters May 30
Stephen Chung’s spent decades making the documentary “It’s All Gonna Break” about the indie band “Broken Social Scene” finally brining it to the screen across the nation on May 30, 2025.
As a long time friend of the band, Chung is there for every moment, including the band’s performance on “The Late Show with David Letterman” and in front of 100,000 people at Lollapolooza in 2006.
The band gives him full access that many documentary directors never get, creating a raw and realistic of a band from start to fame. “It’s All Gonna Break” takes viewers all look at a true indie band. With many music superstars are telling their versions of fame, Chung shows the real story of a band and how their lives interweave with each other. Chung, who was there from the beginning has access to rare footage and clips and help enhance the movie.
