‘Building The Band’: Meet The Competing Bands
Netflix’s new singing competition show “Building The Band” brings a new twist to the sometimes-predictable genre. The show, dubbed by many as “The Voice meets “Love is Blind” meets “Big Brother” finds 50 emerging artists looking to forma a band. In a twist, they blind audition and are chosen by each other to form the band.
Band 1: Members: Donzell, Aaliyah, Cameron, Katie

The first band formed happened to be a mixed group, the only one in the competition. Donzell came in determined to be in the best boy band and made connections with Landon to form a perfect group, but after hearing Aaliyah sing to considered forming a band with her. Donzell had a serious conversation with Landon about breaking their initial agreement to work with Aaliyah. They recruited Cameron and Katie to round out the band. The announcement of their band and their instant connection put pressure on the rest of the people to from bands.
Band #2 Bradley, Shade, Landon and Malik

After Donzell formed a band without him, Landon remained determined to form the ultimate Boy Band, quickly recruiting Malik. The two talk about forming a four-piece boy band to rival some of the great boy bands. The two recruit Shade and Bradley. The four turn out to be the perfect combination to form the group.
Band #3 Nori, Brianna, and Wennely

The three girls were determined to hold with only three members despite the possibility of adding Brie. Things became awkward when Nori didn’t remember chatting with and getting to know Bri. When push came to shove Bri didn’t have any other connections, so she was out.

Band #5 Jenna, Autumn, Noriella and Erica

Erica tried to connect with people but didn’t really click. During early introductions, Erica’s attempt to connect with Allison fell flat. Realizing that Allison intended to “run” things, Erica took matters into her own hands joining forces with Jenna and Noriella. They wanted a fourth member and asked Autumn to join to form their band.
Band #6 Alison and?
The last band has yet to be formed. Allison has been looking for the right people who will work up to her standards. Seeing 5 bands form already puts pressure on her to find members. For her it’s down to two possibilities, Haley and Elise or Mandy and Cece. In an ideal world the remaining four would form and leave Allison out but that was not the case.
The show ends with a cliffhanger. who would Allison choose. “I am not quite sure which way to go,” Alison says. “I feel like the fate of four people is in my hands.”
“Building The Band” continues with the bands moving into apartments together, preparing for showcase performances, and who Alison chooses for her band.
“Building the Band” brings together talented singers for a truly unique competition show where building the perfect band is all about chemistry. The singers are in complete control as they seek to form their very own bands in individual ‘booths’ without ever seeing each other. All they have to go on is musical compatibility, connection, chemistry and merit. What will happen when the bands finally meet, and looks, choreography, and style come into play? With incredible performances, compelling drama, and one big goal—to find the next great music band—the stage is set for an unforgettable experience.
Nicole Scherzinger (The Pussycat Dolls) will serve as mentor and judge. Joining her on the judging panel are music experts Liam Payne (One Direction) and Kelly Rowland (Destiny’s Child), together bringing their unparalleled expertise and personal band experience to the competition. AJ McLean (Backstreet Boys) will host the series.
