Paramount+: What’s Coming in September 2025

As television heads into the fall, Paramount+ has a lot of exciting TV shows across all genres coming in September 2025. Here are some of the most anticipated shows.

NCIS: Tony & Ziva

Premiering September 4

Two of NCIS most popular characters are back.  Tony and Ziva from the original series NCIS. The three-episode series premiere of NCIS: Tony & Ziva will release on Paramount+ on Thursday, September 4, 2025. Set in Paris, the new spy thriller stars Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo playing their familiar NCIS roles. New episodes will be released every Thursday on Paramount+, with the season 1 finale set to air on October 23, 2025.

2025 MTV Video Music Awards

September 7

VMAS

CBS to present MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) for the first time, airing LIVE from UBS Arena, Sunday, Sept. 7 (8:00-11:00 PM, ET/5:00-8:00 PM PT), and streaming on Paramount+.

Three-hour CBS broadcast to simulcast on MTV; one-hour live pre-show to air across Paramount Media Networks. LL Cool J will host with Mariah Carey receiving the Vangard Lifetime Achievement Award. Lady Gaga Leads with 12 Nominations; Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish, Bruno Mars, Kendrick Lamar, ROSÉ, Sabrina Carpenter and The Weeknd Among Top Contenders.

VMAs today announced nominations for two social categories: Best Group and Song of the Summer. All voting will be hosted on @MTV Instagram Story until Sunday, Sept. 7 at 11:00 AM, ET. The 2025 MTV VMAs are LIVE coast-to-coast from New York’s UBS Arena on Sunday, Sept. 7 at 8:00 PM, ET/5:00 PM, PT airing on the CBS Television Network, simulcast on MTV and streaming on Paramount+ in the U.S.*

BEST GROUP – Fan voting for favorite group across all genres will begin Tuesday, Sept. 2 at 11:00 AM, ET on @MTV Instagram Story (three rounds, bracket-style face-off, final round tap to vote); closes Saturday, Sept. 6 at 11:00 AM, ET. The nominees are:

2025 Primetime Emmy Awards

September 14

The 2025 Emmy Awards will be broadcast live on Paramount+ on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at 8 PM ET/5 PM PT. The ceremony will also be broadcast on CBS live from Los Angeles. Notable nominees include Abbott Elementary, Shrinking, Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story, The Studio, Adolescence, The Penguin, Severance, The White Lotus, Andor, The Bear, Hacks, The Pitt, and The Last of Us. Nate Bartgatze hosts. CBS will host the Emmy Awards Pre-Show, A Live One-Hour Red-Carpet Pre-Show Hosted by “Entertainment Tonight’s” Kevin Frazier and Nischelle Turner.
