The format for this season will still have four stages of competition:

Blind Auditions:

During the Blind Auditions, the decisions the coaches make are based solely on voice and not looks as the coaches build their teams of 10 artists. The coaches hear the artists perform without getting to see them, thanks to rotating chairs. If a coach is impressed by the artist’s voice, they push a button to select the artist for their team. At this point, the coach’s chair will swivel so that they can face the artist they selected. If more than one coach pushes the button, the power then shifts to the artists to choose which coach they want to work with. If no one pushes their button, the artist is eliminated from the competition.

This season the coaches compete against each other in the “Triple Turn Competition.” When all three coaches turn and the power is in the artist’s hands, the game is on. The coach that wins the most three-chair turns gains a special advantage in the next round.

Battles:

Once the teams are set, the battle is on. This season the coaches are each enlisting a superstar Battle Advisor to help guide their teams as they compete to make it through the Battle Rounds on to Knockouts. During the Battle Rounds, two team members are paired up to compete against each other by singing the same song together. The artists are vying for their coach’s confidence and decision to take them to the next round. After each vocal battle, the coach must choose which of their artists will advance to the next round of competition. Each coach will have one “Steal” to use in the Battles. However, the coach who won the “Triple Turn Competition” has a “Super Steal” for the Battles. This coveted prize can only be used once and trumps any other coach’s attempt to steal, guaranteeing a win. They leave the Battles with six artists per team advancing to the Knockouts.

Knockouts:

In the Knockouts, the artists will be paired against another teammate, but this time they will select their own songs to perform individually while their direct competitor watches and waits. The coaches will choose the winner, and the pressure is on as the coaches don’t have a “Steal.” The coaches advance to Playoffs with three artists on their team.

During the Knockouts, a special “In-Season All-Star Competition” will take place, featuring beloved former “Voice” artists. Each coach brings back two fan-favorite artists from their teams in previous seasons to compete. These all-stars represent their former coaches as they battle in head-to-head sing-offs. The coach with the most sing-off wins is guaranteed a second finalist in the finale. For this special episode, coaches call upon original “Voice” coach CeeLo Green to sit in on the competition and determine the winner of each All-Star Showdown.

Semi-Final and Finale Week:

The final round of the competition kicks off with a Top 9 semi-final and culminates in the Top 4 finale. For the first time in show history, a new voting block comprised of super fans and past “Voice” artists will have the opportunity to get in on the fun firsthand, experiencing the competition as part of the in-studio audience. They will vote for their favorites in real time during the semi-finals and finale, ultimately determining which finalist will be crowned “The Voice.”
