‘American Idol’: Top 14 Revealed as 6 Contestants Are Eliminated
“American Idol” had back-to-back nights where America voted for the Top 14 based on the performances from the Easter celebration on April 20, on ABC. According to host Ryan Seacrest, 1 billion votes were cast, putting the 10 with the most votes automatically in the Top 14. The final 10 had to sing for the judge to determine who would move on. The judges Lionel Richie, Carrie Underwood, and Luke Bryan picked the last four of the 10 in the “danger zone” to move on, eliminating the remaining six.

Six talented hopefuls did not advance. Isaiah Misailegalu, Drew Ryn, Baylee Littrell, Zaylie Windsor, Olivier Bergeron, and Victor Solomon were all sent home. Before deciding on the four that would continue on, Underwood reminded them to remember all that they accomplished. “You guys rose to the challenge, week after week, challenge after challenge,” she told the group. “You’ve done amazing. Take that with you and be proud of that, no matter what happens.”
“It was a dream come true to be considered to be a part of this competition and I’m leaving with my head held high,” Drew Ryn told TVMusic Network after the show. “I’m excited for what’s coming. This was the experience of a lifetime.”
Zaylie Windsor, the 18year old from Arizona, agreed. “It was a dream come true,” she added. “I used to watch the show with my mom. I would dream about being here.”
“For me it’s been a wonderful experience,” Victor Solomon, said. “I’ve met so many amazing people on the show, so many amazing artists and there were some amazing moments and highlights in my life that I’ll remember forever. Going to Hawaii with “American Idol” all these people I hope to keep in touch. It’s been great. I learned that I am very, very nice,” the Peoria IL native said when asked one thing that he learned about himself. “I proved to myself that I could do it. My goal is to leave a lasting impression on people every time I leave.”
Solomon’s musical aspirations are beyond the competition show, now in Season 23. “I do have music out,” he said. “And I am working on a project that I started before coming on the show. I’m excited to put that out really, really soon. This and continue to perform. I’ve had amazing opportunities to go to Budapest, and other countries. I’m excited for more opportunities like that.”
The Top 14 contestants will compete again on Sunday during a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame episode where host Ryan Seacrest will announce the 2025 inductees into the exclusive club. Rock Hall inductee and music icon James Taylor will be a guest mentor followed by Monday’s episode with a coast-to-coast voting with mentoring from Season Three winner Fantasia.
