CBS: New Reality Shows ‘The Road’ and ‘America’s Culinary Cup’ Premiere This Fall
CBS announced its 2025 – 2026 Fall Programming Schedule and will premiere two new reality competition shows to the lineup. Joining CBS’s stellar lineup of reality shows “The Amazing Race,” “Survivor,” “The Summit,” and “Big Brother,” are “The Road” from Blake Shelton and Taylor Sheridan and a reality cooking competition show, “America’s Culinary Cup” starring Padma Lakshmi.

“AMERICA’S CULINARY CUP” (working title) from acclaimed Emmy® Award-nominated food expert Padma Lakshmi (“Top Chef,” “Taste the Nation”) will feature an invitation-only cast of the nation’s most decorated chefs as they embark on a one-of-a-kind competition designed to challenge their creativity, endurance, presentation, leadership and more. The series will air Wednesdays (9:30-10:30 PM ET/PT) Spring 2026.
Lakshmi is an Emmy-nominated producer, television host, food expert, and best selling author. She is the creator of the Hulu series “Taste the Nation,” and she served as host and executive producer for 19 seasons of Bravo’s two-time Emmy-winning series “Top Chef,” which had been nominated for 47 Emmys during her tenure, including her five nominations for Outstanding Host for a Reality-Competition Program.
Turning from food to music, come the new reality show “The Road” from country superstar Blake Shelton and “Yellowstone’s” Taylor Sheridan.
From executive producers Taylor Sheridan, Blake Shelton, David Glasser, Lee Metzger and Keith Urban, “The Road” highlights Urban, who also serves as the headlining superstar for the series, and Shelton’s journey to discover the next big musician. Shelton is jumping back into music reality competitions through his production company with THE ROAD. The new music competition series highlights his journey with Keith Urban, who also serves as the headlining superstar for the series, to discover the next big musician, The show follows a group of emerging musicians (to be announced) as they open for Urban at music venues across America, competing to win over local fanbases to secure a spot in the next city and remain on the tour. In the end, only one will walk away with the ultimate prize: a performance at Stagecoach 2026, a $250,000 cash prize and a recording deal. “The Road” offers viewers a backstage pass into the gritty and unforgiving life of a touring musician. With exclusive access to behind-the-scenes workings of the music industry, viewers will see what happens when some of the best up-and-coming performers pile into a tour bus and tackle a grueling schedule in pursuit of their dreams. “The Road” will air Sundays at 9:00 PM starting fall 2025. Keith Urban will travel to Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Tennessee as the headlining superstar for CBS’ new music competition series “The Road.” The series, from executive producers Blake Shelton, Taylor Sheridan, Lee Metzger and David Glasser, highlights Urban and Shelton’s journey to discover the next big musician, with emerging talent opening for him at music venues across America. He’s been a judge on “American Idol” in the U.S. and “The Voice” in Australia and been recognized as one of country music’s most influential artists with inductions into the Grand Ole Opry and the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame.
Country music artist Gretchen Wilson joins “The Road” in the special role of “tour manager.” As “tour manager,” Wilson will provide support and guidance to the emerging musicians while they make their way across America, ensuring the tour’s success while sharing her own expertise and experiences on the road as a touring artist. Wilson also takes to the stage to deliver a performance of her own as part of the show.
