Based on the book, “Sarah’s Oil: The Journey of Sarah Rector, the Young Black Girl Who Struck Oil and Became One of America’s Wealthiest Women,” and based on a true story, “Sarah’s Oil, tells the story of eleven year old Sarah Rector, an African American girl born in Oklahoma Indian Territory in the early 1900s, who believes there is oil beneath the barren land she’s allotted and whose faith is proven right.
