LA Comic Con is keeping the legacy of Stan Lee alive by introducing the first of its kind hologram of the comic book legend at the 3-day event over the weekend.

Created by Hyperreal, authorized by the Stan Lee Universe, and experienced through cutting edge Proto Hologram technology, the legend himself appeared on stage, answering fan questions, sharing stories, and even taking selfies with the audience.

Lee’s name is simious with the comic event that was originally named after Lee before it was changed to LA Comic Con in 2018. Fans were able to ask the hologram Stan questions and experience the heart of Lee’s vision for the Los Angeles event which runs September 26 – September 28.

The hologram is pure Stan according to Chris DeMoulin, the CEO of the event. The hologram was trained from Stan Lee’s appearances on red carpets and at comic cons. “This avatar will never say something that Stan didn’t say. It will never have a point of view about Marvel or the stories or Stan’s role in them that hasn’t come directly from something Stan has said,” DeMoulin said.
